Movie Night
Poster-forward movie picks from trending, in-theaters, and all-time-great lists. Fate ends the scroll — everyone watches the winner.
The average crew spends longer choosing a movie than watching one. Movie Night gives everyone one hidden pick and lets fate hit play.
A picker that feels like a marquee
Submissions come from a poster-forward movie browser — search anything, or flip through Trending, In Theaters, and Top Rated shelves. Tap a poster for the full card: synopsis, cast, trailer, and where it’s streaming. Pick with confidence; submit in seconds.
Theater mode
Planning an actual cinema outing? The owner can point the night at a theater, and the picker opens on what’s actually showing. Fate decides the film; the showtime argument dies with it.
How a movie night runs
- Owner starts a Movie Night — “No horror, Dana has work tomorrow” — and sets the lock and draw.
- Everyone submits one film. All posters stay face-down until the draw.
- The reveal flips the winner up — poster, title, the works — for everyone at once.
- Losing picks stay sealed. The almost-watched remain a mystery forever.
The couch is undefeated
Because picks are hidden, nobody pre-negotiates. The comfort rewatch, the A24 gamble, and the three-hour epic all get equal odds — which is exactly what makes pressing play feel like an event again.
