Trip
Cities, cabins, coastlines — everyone throws in one destination and fate packs the bags. Group trip planning without the six-month debate.
Group trips die in the planning group chat. Fourteen destinations, three spreadsheets, zero bookings. The Trip type gives every dreamer one hidden destination and lets fate settle it while everyone’s still excited.
Destinations, near or far
Submit a city from the picker or type the dream in free text — “the cabin from last summer,” “anywhere with a beach,” “Lisbon, trust me.” The owner frames the trip with a date or a typed range (“Labor Day weekend”) so every pick fits the window everyone actually has.
How a trip draw runs
- The owner starts a Trip — “3-day weekend, drivable, under $400 each” — and invites the squad.
- Everyone quietly submits the place they’ve been dying to push for.
- At the draw, fate picks the destination live for the whole group.
- Everyone accepts — that’s the pact — and planning starts from a decision instead of toward one.
Why it works for trips especially
Trips fail because commitment is expensive and everyone hedges. Kismet inverts it: commitment happens first, at the draw, while the energy is high. The crew that accepts its fate on Tuesday books flights on Wednesday.
