No app, no account, full member of the night: guests by link

Every crew has one: the friend who will not download another app. We built Kismet’s guest experience for them — and refused to make it second-class.

One link, ten seconds

The owner shares a link. The guest taps it, sees the plan and the countdown, and joins with a name and phone number. No account. No password. No app-store detour. The explicit promise on the join screen: you’re not creating an account — and if you ever sign up with this number, your history comes with you.

Full participation, not spectator mode

  • Hidden picks: guests submit through the same type-shaped forms — real restaurant search, movie posters, free text — and their picks are exactly as invisible as everyone else’s.
  • The same reveal: at draw time the browser plays the full ball choreography, live-synchronized with every phone in the crew.
  • The same pact: guests accept their fate on the web and appear in the acceptance tracker with everyone else, then grab a calendar file for the plan.

Exactly one text (and only if asked)

A guest can check “Text me when fate decides.” We verify the number with a 6-digit code first, then send one message when the draw lands: the result and their link. That’s the entire SMS relationship. No reminders, no upsells, no drip campaigns. The build-up lives in the app — that’s the honest pitch for downloading it, and it stays a pitch, never a hostage situation.

Come back from anywhere

Every guest gets a personal link — their key back into the activity from any device. New phone mid-plan? Re-enter the number on the activity page and resume. And if a guest eventually signs up for the app, verifying that same number brings their whole guest history along.

Half your crew will never install anything. Now it doesn’t matter. Start an activity and send the link.
